Refrigerator Care

After the last cleaning a refrigerator will slowly accumulate things you forgot about.
Packages leak that you didn't know did and putting away leftovers in a container that wasn't quite clean on the outside.  A refrigerator is cold and the air in the house is warm and moist.  When worlds collide there can also be condensation that builds up.  So this example of cleaning I did today can be copied and repeated because they are all the same.  Even a self-cleaning oven requires that you press a button!

Here goes.  We have a fridge with adjustable shelves so it always helps to re-think how it is used in order to maximize space.  Find a bucket and put hot water in it with a dabble of dish detergent and a dash of Clorox to melt goo and sanitize at the same time.  Make your own rules on where to place food then live by them but obey the industry wide law of cross-contamination.  Meats go on the lowest consecutive shelves and vegetables above. You can even swap and put vegetables higher than milks and cheeses.  One other reason to do this is because cold air is heavy and settles to the bottom and that is where you want to store meat where it is coldest besides the freezer.

If you ever buy a refrigerator buy new just one time and read the manual cover to cover.

Freezer Filosophy
In this photo I show how the vegetables and dairy are on the top and meat on the bottom.
Remember that meat items are not frozen when you put it in the freezer at first so their liquids
still have time to collect in one corner and drip onto what is below.  This is why you will never
find a freezer with an ice maker in the middle or bottom of the freezer.  At least there shouldn't be.

In computer lingo memory can be accessed in two style- random and sequential.  Note how the items on the shelf below the vegetables are sort of stacked in there.  You have to lift up an item to see what is below it or to get it out.  This is sometimes clumsy.  But the shelf below that the items are stored on their edges.  This is called randomly accessible because you can reach wherever you want and pull things out with less bother.

Items you reach for frequently are stored at eye level like ice cream. yum Less frequently are the first aid ice pack thingy way in the bottom and the ice chest frozen bock thingy.

I hope you take these practical tips through life to make cooking easier and safer.

Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?

Floating on the web - Faithfully representing the person's public personality.
Why Did The Chicken Cross The Road?
SARAH PALIN: The chicken crossed the road because, gosh-darn it, he's a maverick!
BARACK OBAMA: Let me be perfectly clear, if the chickens like their eggs they can keep their eggs. No chicken will be required to cross the road to surrender her eggs. Period.
JOHN McCAIN: My friends, the chicken crossed the road because he recognized the need to engage in cooperation and dialogue with all the chickens on the other side of the road.
HILLARY CLINTON: What difference at this point does it make why the chicken crossed the road.
GEORGE W. BUSH: We don't really care why the chicken crossed the road. We just want to know if the chicken is on our side of the road or not. The chicken is either with us or against us. There is no middle ground here.
DICK CHENEY: Where's my gun?
BILL CLINTON: I did not cross the road with that chicken.
AL GORE: I invented the chicken.
JOHN KERRY: Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am not for it now, and will remain against it.
AL SHARPTON: Why are all the chickens white?
DR. PHIL: The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on this side of the road before it goes after the problem on the other side of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he is acting by not taking on his current problems before adding any new problems.
OPRAH: Well, I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross the road so badly. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a NEW CAR so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.
ANDERSON COOPER: We have reason to believe there is a chicken, but we have not yet been allowed to have access to the other side of the road.
NANCY GRACE: That chicken crossed the road because he's guilty! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks.
PAT BUCHANAN: To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.
MARTHA STEWART: No one called me to warn me which way the chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
DR SEUSS: Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY: To die in the rain, alone.
GRANDPA: In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough for us.
BARBARA WALTERS: Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish it's lifelong dream of crossing the road.
ARISTOTLE: It is the nature of chickens to cross the road.
BILL GATES: I have just released eChicken2014, which will not only cross roads, but will lay eggs, file your important documents and balance your checkbook. Internet Explorer is an integral part of eChicken2014. This new platform is much more stable and will never reboot.
ALBERT EINSTEIN: Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?
COLONEL SANDERS: Did I miss one?

Just Thinking about Mass Murdering Gunfire

Being born comes with risks. In the cases of mass murders the risk of being killed by the people who were previously alive was 100%. The risks of dying by mass murder gun spree drop off precipitously by a number of factors, not the least of which is distance from the shooter or posessor of weapon with intent to kill. For example my chance of being murdered by Lanza was 0% because I'm in Florida.

All deaths could have been avoided if it had been known that A. a person with intent was  B. in possession of a gun and stopped before entering the target space. What does it take to know these factors? Nearly supernatural powers or supernatural powers. Powers that should have been in possession of the 1st target ie. his mother.

But his mother did not have those powers. Not only that but she was the gun owner which means that gun ownership does not guarentee survival. Who has supernatural powers to know both person of intent and 'in possession'? Well God for one. So where was God? The bible says God is omipresent. So for reason or reasons we do not understand God stood by and let those people in (all mass shootings) die without so much as intervening. Then what is God's mission if it is not to save lives? Suppose for a moment an atheist is correct that God does not exist. Then non-god has non-powers to not supernaturally intevene, people die and that's that and the suidcidal shooter escapes justice. Is the universe unfair in both instances? Who are we to say we are just dust?

Do you follow me? So let's say that we love justice and boy we sure wish that shooter was alive so we could drag him through town behind our trailer hitch for killing those children. But he isn't he killed himself and escaped justice (or the confrontation of a hopeless court case that would lead to his conviction). He judged himself and carried out the execution is that fair? Not entirely because we like justice and having people answerable.

Now let's suppose that God exists and he loves justice. The bible says our God is a Just god, cursing those to infinity those who curse Him and loving to infinity those who love Him. If the children then are loved by God, and they are because the Bible tells us so, then they are in His presence. What of their murderer? You answer that.

So if the two ways of reducing your chances of death by mass-murdering gunfire are distance and removal of intent wouldn't it be in our best interest to promote beliefe in God?  That no matter how you try to hide you will be punished for your crimes for infinity? Infinity is longer than life in prison without chances of parole. Infinity is forever and ever and ever and when we are done with all the forevers then Amen!

Lastly, then there is a 3rd way to survive mass murdering gunfire and that is to be in possession of recognizable deadly force, such as a handgun.  Being threatening with a gun or firing a gun in defense has greater than 0% probability of reducing or avoiding deaths by mass murdering gunfire.  Ann Coulter's statistics prove this in her editorial piece titled "We Know How to Stop School Shootings".  So in conclusion I would say that promoting belief in God as inescapable avenger and deliverer of justice and allowing  the possession of deadly force, combined, should reduce death by mass murdering gunfire by a drastic amount.

Lessons Learned from the Last Presidential Eleciton

My team lost in the November 6th, 2012 election.
It was a beautiful night tonight in my neighborhood so I took the dog for a walk.  Its dark we have no street lights, cold for Florida, and the stars and clouds hung against a sky black as coal.  Once I thought of my title for this post then the points came easily, rudely and humorously.  In no particular order here is what I think I learned.

  1. Radio talk show hosts are not right 98.9% of the time.
  2. It would be good to re-read '1984' and 'Animal Farm' by George Orwell.
  3. Expressing your enthusiasm for a candidate and your opinions on Facebook is generally preaching to the choir; a waste of time.
  4. A dirty joke and a snide remark made by late night comedians about your candidate carries a lot of weight with Democrats.
  5. Christians that vote for an evil man are more apt to believe what he says and forgive him for what he does without noticing the candidate is a pathological liar.
  6. Women on network TV news shows like The View illustrate the old proverb that "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think."  A majority of voters find them believable and worthy sources of opinion.
  7. I underestimated the stupidity of way over half of the Americans, both living and dead, and non-citizens that voted.
  8. Having a Christian worldview and expressing it in order to convince others to not vote for Obama is like pouring the gasoline of conviction onto the flames of their own self-righteousness. A Christian worldview is a liability not an asset in discussions.
  9. Military veterans are not necessarily for a stronger America.  Like a pastor lead astray, highly respected veterans get bogged down in social issues.
  10. 1 Bald faced lie by a Democrat President carries more weight than 10 Islamic terrorist attacks covered by Fox News.
  11. Guiness Book of World Records needs to make an entry for the world's biggest mulligan.
  12. A majority of Americans don't care about providing full time jobs for others or about an infinite price increase on gasoline.  Transportation by foot and by moped are desireable options if free birth control is promised.
  13. Lucky 13 is: National defense and Israel are of minor importance when compared to his smile and if you don't think so you are a racist.

Benjamin Air Rifle

My mother (I'm in my 50's now) always told me to avoid crowds if possible.  People can snatch your wallet hit you over the head or push a needle into you and there's nothing you can do. So I am one aware individual.  Yes, even at Disney World.

Raised in the Ouachita mountains of Arkansas, a hunter and hand gun enthusiast it was part of home training to understand the tools known as guns.  I'm saying this to educate some.  Changing oil in a car, tying a fishing line, fixing a lawnmower, using a power saw and power drill, handling guns safely.  This was all proper home training right up there with loading the dishwasher and grilling hamburgers.  These were all part of the last remaining generation of parents that actually hunted for food (swamps and fields of southern Illinois) for their parents. The Steam age, pre/post WW2.

My parents were an intact family that loved one another and often went to church.  But we don't live in that perfect world do we?  So in my mind (and many many others) "Gun Control" means managing recoil on a 44caliber cap and ball revolver after a good target shot.  Gun control is assuming every gun in the closet has accidentally got a shell in the chamber when you take it out  and verifying the chamber is empty and verifying safety is 'on' anyway.

But we don't live in that perfect world anymore do we!  So gun control has become a euphemism for "Taking all guns away from everybody if possible."  I wasn't born yesterday don't try to BS me.
You probably don't know this but some air rifles are so powerful they can easily kill someone and I have one of them.  Gonna control that?  You probably don't know this but the US Coast Guard rules say that every boat should have a flare gun.  Any idea what a flare would do to someone if you fired it at them?  Did you know some flare guns will take a 410 gauge shotgun shell? Going to control that?

Did you know there are as many ways to kill someone as there are to love someone?  Love is a decision.  And if you added up all of the murders and all of the mass killings in American history it would be completely overshadowed and pale in comparison to the serial killing abortion industry, a constituency of the gun control lobby.

I know you get tired of hearing this but it just has to soak in:
"Guns don't kill people.  People kill people."  Let's state it differently:  "Knives don't kill people. People kill people."  Still another "Broken beer bottles don't kill people. People kill people." and another "Baseball bats don't kill people.  People kill people."

In conclusion: "You will never get my guns from me until you pry them from my cold dead fingers."

Tired of Golf

A publication I respect very highly got me started thinking about how much I tire of hearing about golf.  My bible study material, no less, anecdotally mentioned golf as in "When you are out with a friend playing golf...".   I've never played it, I know I would be awful and golf is all I've ever heard about.  I'm tired of the whole back slapping expensive foray into an artificial world of that Saxon obsession.  Is there not any other pastime besides golf?  Do I have to play to be considered normal?  Do I have to play to be considered 'in' and worthy of advancement?

It is the whole made up artificial world of expensive whacking sticks, white balls, preppy shirts, natty pants and shoes. Then you get suckered into paying fees and memberships and it isn't enough to just walk then its the golf cart.  Natty haircuts and the inevitable club scene I can only imagine because I've never been there.  Nobody in my families except my sister has even played golf.  Tiger Woods didn't change things for me.  So what? Just another prodigy athlete that endorses stuff and gets to make more money in 1 minute than I will in a lifetime.  It isn't about the money.  It is about the character of predictability.

You can only imagine my mind reeling as this Conservative reads that the person they call President of the United States has played his 100th round of golf in less than 4 years.  I am not counting, who cares.  This is what I want in a United States President- not golf.  Anything but more golfing.

This is what I want.
I want a president who can sink an 8-ball with the cue stick behind his back. A custom pool cue. I want a president who can climb a rock face with pitons and a resin bag. Or a president who can beat a Russian at chess or split an arrow with another arrow. Or a president who likes guns and hunts jack-rabbits with a S&W 17 revolver and scope in Texas or Wyoming.  Then skins and cooks it over a fire made with weeds and wild sage...for fun.   Or I want a president who maybe has the uncanny ability to sit on a sidewalk and make a chalk mural of Impressionist paintings. A president who can take a performance bi-plane and fly it up into a hammerhead stall with an ABC news reporter in the back seat. I want a president who can speak 2 or 3 languages beside English and play a musical instrument.  A real man who trains his own dogs to herd animals, or pull a snow sled or guard his own life. I want a President with the common touch to take a backpack full of frisbees, his dog, and children to the park. He has to be a guy who wears a cross around his neck in public and may lead everyone in "God Bless America". Someone? Anyone?!

When this multi-faceted President goes to meetings with world leaders I want him to be unpredictable and hard to categorize.  I want him to be mistakenly interpreted as a little bit
nuts.   For example President Quigley goes to a meeting with Islamic nations, walks into the room wearing a yarmulke and says "This is my souvenir that I got the last time I toured Israel. I love it there!  So many stones told me that the God of the Jews is still in control of this old world.".  He should occasionally lose his cool, when needed, with liberals and raise his voice and, using a racial slur, counter them and call them "expletive" idiots then pound his fist and apologize.  Apologize by saying something like "The Lord isn't done with me yet just give me a minute."

Instead of a golf getaway I want a President who can be flown to a remote wilderness, in an Alaska autumn, then, with a parachute and some basic survival gear, step out of his helicopter telling everyone to pick him up at designated coordinates in 4 days.  Nothing but a back pack with a sleeping bag, a knife, a compass, gps, sidearm, flint fire starter, dry pack food, rope and a canteen.  After picking him up, demands to go into an inuit fishing village and play with children by making dolls out of pine needles and buttons from his clothing.  That's a man that would be respected.

We need a man in the Whitehouse that can fly to Russia to play a chess master and utterly lose.  Then smile and say "Jesus loves you but I don't." break out in laughter and bang the guy on the back and serve beer all around that was brewed in Texas. Then say 'okay before you ask me what we're doing in the Persian Gulf what are your plans for Syria and what do YOU think we are doing in the Persian Gulf?  Do the locals benefit from a Russian presence there?'

Or how about a man who, besides English,  speaks Spanish and Arabic  who has taken up the hobby of caring for and riding rescued horses from the nation.  Has built a paddock in Martha's Vineyard and rides and teaches dressage and riding skills to High School students.  When he speaks he thanks the Arabs for breeding the finest horses in the world and in Spanish thanks the Spaniards for bringing them to America.  But when news reporters flock around to find something unimportant to focus on and denigrate him with he chases them with rawhide whips in front of everyone and yells "I don't have enough fingers to tell you where you can stick those cameras."

A real renaissance man like Leone Battista Alberti is what we need.  Someone with a hobby like blacksmithing.  Goes to a forge right there on the grounds of the Whitehouse and with red hot iron and tongs and tools hammers out a filigree for the fence or knife blade for dignitaries.  We need someone who has been to law school and memorized the US Constitution and Bill of Rights but can be invited to jump onto  the stage with Joe Bonamassa and grab a guitar and practice a few riffs then ask Joe to teach him a new lick.

That's my dream.  If we encourage young citizens to be like that, who develop into presidential candidates, our whole nation will be challenged to elevate itself as a united whole.

A Fat Ladies Prayer

"Lord, my soul is ripped with riot.
Incited by this wicked diet.
'We are what we eat' said a wise old man;
and Lord if that is true, I'm a garbage can.

I want to rise on judgement day, that's plain.
But on the present weight I'll need a crane.
So grant me strength, that I may not fall,
Into the clutches of cholesterol.
May my flesh of carrot-curls be sated,
That my soul be poly-unsaturated.

And show me the light, that I may bear witness
To the Presidents council on Physical Fitness.
And a diet margarine I'll never mutter,
For the road to hell is spread with butter.
And cream is cursed; and cake just awful;
Satan is hiding in every waffle.
He's there too in every chocolate drop,
and Lucifer is a lollipop.

Give me this day my daily slice,
but cut it thin and toast it twice,
I beg upon my dimpled knees
deliver me from sugar tree's.
And when my days of trial are done
and my war on malted milk is won.
Let me stand with the heavenly throng;
In a shining robe...size 10 and long.
I can do it Lord if you show to me;
the virtues of lettuce and celery.

If you'll teach me the evil of mayonnaise;
the sinfulness of hollandaise; donuts, rolls and Oh me!
The cobbler, pie and pastry;
and crisp fried chicken from the South -
LORD IF YOU LOVE ME.............SHUT MY MOUTH!!"

The Service of Dogs

I have a soft spot for animals especially the personality of dogs. They're so earnest and open about their approach to life. Very little guile unless it is playful guile. A good influence for me to remind me to be loyal. This hasn't always been so because prior to my first dog in my 30's I had always been around cats.  Growing older I find that I probably will always have a dog and it will probably be medium to large sized.

This afternoon a spurt of energy found me doing some un-landscaping in the backyard. Using chainsaw and circular saw I made changes in my view. This was exhausting and Coquetta was with me the whole time tied to her zip line. She does not much zipping but sits watching wildlife and snapping at flying insects. Finally I was exhausted and needed to sit down for a spell in a lawn chair.

Across the creek is grassy access road for utility trucks and people frequently walk or jog the road.  Coquetta gave a 'woof' of warning and I cautioned her to be quiet as a cat and just sit and watch.  Along came a woman walking by herself with 2 large dogs on leads or so I thought.  The lead dog was a brown-tan Siberian Husky with its elegant articulated gait.  The next dog on leash was just as large maybe larger with an equally dense coat. It could possibly have been a Golden Retriever it just looked odd because its fur had been molting or trimmed but for sure it was lagging behind in order to keep track of scents on the ground.
Gone and out of sight they went not going quite as quickly as the husky wanted because the woman was not tall or one to fast-walk.

Out the corner of my left eye I saw some movement and about 50yards behind the woman and her dogs was what must have been her 3rd dog.  An ancient German Shepherd walking painfully slow, no leash, none needed.  It appeared to have a sway back. Shepherds have a hip dysplasia problem when getting older.  But the attitude of the dog was what just about brought a tear to my eye. Although moving slowly and falling so far behind, head hung tired low, its tail never stopped wagging as though it was still part of the pack.  Its whole life had been spent gamely contributing to the family as loyal playmate ready for adventure. In its mind it was all still there.  It had probably been the playmate of children that are now grown and living on their own.

I hope I'm all still 'there' when my dog years get up there.  So I thank God for the encouragement that dogs give to us and for their loyal service.

God's System of Justice for Victims

This brief bio was copied from Last.fm entry for the same, and last.fm cited Wiki Source.

Edward Riley Boyd known as Eddie Boyd (November 25, 1914–July 13, 1994) was a blues piano player born on Stovall’s Plantation near Clarksdale, Mississippi, where Muddy Waters also lived. He moved to the Beale Street district of Memphis, Tennessee in 1936 where he played piano and guitar with his group, the Dixie Rhythm Boys. Boyd followed the great migration northward to the factories of Chicago in 1941.

He wrote and recorded the hit songs “Five Long Years” (1952), “24 Hours” (1953), and the “Third Degree” (co-written by Willie Dixon, also 1953). Boyd toured Europe with Buddy Guy’s band in 1965 as part of the American Folk Blues Festival. He later toured and recorded with Fleetwood Mac and John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers.

Tired of the racial discrimination he experienced in the United States, he first moved to Belgium, then settled in Finland in 1970. He recorded ten blues records in Finland, the first being Praise to Helsinki (1970). He married his wife, Leila, in 1977. His last blues gig took place in 1984. After that he performed only gospel.

Boyd died in 1994 in Helsinki, Finland, just a few months before Eric Clapton released a chart-topping blues album that included Boyd’s “Five Long Years” and “Third Degree”.

Any blues artist born between about 1915 to 1940 or so you can bet was black.  Just with anecdotal evidence similar to this one citing from last.fm you can surmise the musician was born in the south and probably very poor, disadvantaged, with very hard farm and plantation labor not very far away in their life.  More than a little likely they were descendants of or direct descendants of slaves.  Discrimination was common and injustice, inequality, and prejudice.

I believed that God looked down on this and blessed the victims and sealed the fates of the unjust society that existed at that time.  After all what can a few poor blacks do with a guitar and a piano?  No TV, little radio, little money but only a social network of people.  Churches , communities, days off with picnics, hot nights spent outside with neighbors.  They had no one to appeal to and stand up for them in any regular or predictable fashion like the whining we hear from Muslim immigrants. The constant drumbeat of court cases and CAIR complaints from people who don't even have it 1/10th as bad as these black men.

Yet the God of music looked down and blessed their minds and their hands. Little by little a billion dollar industry was built and from that sprang a multi-billion dollar industry of rock and roll and the rest is history.  All the big names you have known and loved in the 70's, 80's , 90's until now sprang from the hardship and harshness and misery of pre-MLK mindsets.

I am still waiting to see the glorious contributions to society that all the 'suffering' Muslims around the US are going to make.  But their column of talent and contribution is still completely blank.  All I see are shaking fists, insidious attempts to breach our Constitution, threats of war and debasing hatred of anything non-Muslim.

The prophet Micah in the Old Testament said "But as for me, I will watch expectantly for the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me."  The Lord does not fail when you wait upon him.  Now what you do with one of the blessing of God is a man's test.  Talent can be used for good or for evil celebration of depravity.  See now what men and women of both races have done with their freedom.  It sometimes becomes a noose in which your sentence is to die of a drug overdose or a disease of a immoral lifestyle.  Used rightly the result is your foot is tapping the entire time the songs are playing!

Government, Protests, Ayn Rand, Christmas and G-d

"Atlas Shrugged" and "Atlas Shrugs" are iconic but as we get closer to the celebration of the birth of Christ I think these words add to the conversation:
Isaiah 9:5-7
"Every warrior’s boot used in battle
and every garment rolled in blood
will be destined for burning,
will be fuel for the fire.
For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David’s throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this. "
Amen. And I am so sorry that Ayn Rand discarded these writings as rubbish to invent her own religion. Then as if Isaiah weren't enough assurance messiah himself said in Matthew 28 "When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
All means all and 'end of the age' means end of life as we know it. Words have meanings.
G-d has also granted authority to all governments to govern, even the ones we don't agree with. But this nation is special because we can elect representatives to change the jewelry on the fingers of authorities and government.

Defense Of Marriage Act

Vows of Prince William and Kate Middleton before Godly authority
in Westminster Abbey, April 29 2011

 A
major upset took place today among the forces of darkness in heavenly places.
Thank you Prince William and Kate Middleton and Great Britain for taking the lead.  Several very positive statements were made today that nobody really was aware of.  That is how deeply ingrained God's will is for men and women in the world He created.  A  plan was made for the furtherance of the species and part of that plan was celebrated worldwide by people of all political persuasions whether they were aware of it or not.

Because
I looked out on the crowds over the TV and worldwide web and saw everyone having a very good time celebrating tradition, God's will, and just being themselves.  People were trying to be their best, look their best, horses looking perfect, cars perfect, shoes, buttons, coats and  carpets!  Some were wearing funny hats some were wading in the fountain of Buckingham Palace, waving flags and banners. They aggressively acted to preserve the rich culture that has so influenced the world for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer.  We humans of all nationalities can get in skirmishes and battles, wars and takeovers.   But these are the affairs of Man that God allows to steer His ultimate will.

 Christ
came to this earth to be an example on how to live, love, and die.  Did you listen to the vows?  Did you listen to your vows when you got married?  Or were you like Barbara Walters of ABC News and just talk prattle over the voices of the most important part of the ceremony with your own agenda and thoughts?

You see Kate Middleton and see youthful radiance, energy and anticipation.  The Bible in many places speaks directly or alludes to the Messiah coming a 2nd time to snatch his bride, the church (people) from this world to a Heavenly home prepared for us in advance from the beginning of time.  As Pastor Gary Frazier, said one day, Jesus is looking to The Father and saying "Is it time? Is it time?" waiting a little longer The Father says 'no'.  Finally in a day we do not know The Father will say 'it is time' then Christ, here symbolized by Prince William, will come and take His bride.  Do you want to be a part of the that moment in all of history?  Its as easy as ABC.

A. Admit to God that you are a sinner.  B. Believe that Christ died on the cross to save mankind as a substitutionary sacrifice.  C.  Commit your life to Christ as one of His students and tell someone what you have done.

I alluded to several very positive statements made today as the world, filled with evil, looked on in enthusiasm and they are:

  • Marriage is between one man and one woman.  Not between a man and a man or a woman and a woman or a dog and a woman or a horse and a man or one man and n number of women.
  • Powerful and wealthy people submit to the authority of God as God bequeaths that representation of himself to his earthly representatives.  In other words William and Kate submitted to the authority of the priest of the Anglican church.  The Anglican church are not the only Christians but they are Christians only.
  • This is the finest example of how important to God marriage is.
  • Marriage is healthy and positive, widely approved by many witnesses as the only way to go through life with the one you love.
  • Marriage gets its best start in a church.
  • Marriages are performed by church authorities.
Dennis Prager, a talk show radio host, also echoed the same sentiment when he said "Many people around the world today celebrated that marriage is important."
I hope these sentiments have a familiar
of truth to you.

The Wind That Shakes The Barley

This is one of my few blog entries that does not need a picture.  Born and raised in the USA I am a newcomer to the Celtic music genre as far as collecting it goes.  I don't recall how I became a fan of Loreena McKennitt except I must have randomly clicked on something and fell in love with a haunting melody.  Reminding me of an old dear friend  at the same time.

Tonight was a special night for me because it's a full moon and I walk our retriever, Coquetta, at night typically.  With "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" newly installed on my player I put in my earphones and walked our dark sidewalks.  I live in Sarasota, Florida which is sub-tropical and on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.

Loreena's music took an already gorgeous night and made it haunting and magic at the same time adding to the beauty.  I felt sorry for the people in their houses, with the glow of a TV visible, who miss such a life.  Endless shows with canned laughter and emptiness.  So on my walk there was the dog, our shadows, and moonlight backlighting spanish moss hanging down from oak trees and backlighting palms and bare limb trees and night music.

Barley is an ancient source of food traceable to growing wild in the fertile crescent of civilization.  The lives of the characters of the song story may have revolved around the barley and the growing and harvesting of it.  A basic need controlled by the will of the wind and the weather.  But what a beautiful and visual story element.  Listening to the song your mind's eye can see a heavy shafts of barley as far as you can see waving as the wind touches it.

There is something deeply programmed into the human soul going back thousands of years when we look at a stem of grain.  Even in my culture, the Christian culture, our God is the God of the Jews and in the Hebrew language the name for God is 'Yhwh', the god that breaths or has breath.  So even the life of the characters is controlled and destinies changed by the breath of God.  Invisible purposes revealed in the passage of time like Joseph being sold into slavery to the Egyptians.  With the passage of time God's purpose was to save the people that committed the act.  Pharoah grew to trust him and by placing Joseph in charge of all the grain of Egypt during 7 years of famine his family's lives were saved.  Out of this family line came another Joseph the daddy to Jesus who wants your trust so you will be preserved as well.

The Wind That Shakes The Barley is the wind that shakes all of us.  We don't know where it is going or where it has been we can only trust The Wind with our very lives.  Buy this album.  Its got old and new stories.  "When I Roved Out" is a happy and sad song, a traditional Gaelic or Irish song done many many times but wow.  Thrill and mystery of life mixed with the promises of an all too human man that may not marry or ever be seen again.  I love the rhythm it was perfect for walking.

Good Night.

Woman Consumed by Illuminati - www.thebereanchronicles.com

 I write...
Greetings,

I have read your web page on the prison in Arizona and I have a few comments and questions.  I have never understood the 'scariness' , for lack of a better term, about the subject of the Illuminati.  I believe that we humans can see patterns in almost everything if we want to.  It is part of the language center of our brain that our Creator has endowed upon us.  But what concerns me most is the number of apparent Christians that are dragged away and enticed to devote so much time and energy and focus on the Illuminati and Masonry and 'secret' patterns.  Do you believe that God is in control or these Illuminati?

In one set of illustrations on that web page you make some points about Walmart.  First of all how did you ever get over the secret scariness of the Internet and the computer to even be on the web in the first place?  I have been with the personal computer industry since the very beginning and remember the irrational beliefs that some Christians had about the machines at that time.  So what makes you think you aren't being scanned and your mind and soul being altered as you read this?

Back to Walmart-  Walmart is a business that makes money.  It is a legal business entity founded by a Christian man in the 1960's.  They employ people that otherwise would not have health care benefits.  Their real-estate office is vast and it is a Christian quality that we be wise with our money and not waste what God has given.  The intent of Walmart for many years was to proudly carry items for sale that were made in the USA.  However greed and laziness has taken its course in American industry and China is all too ready to fill the vacuum.  It is all about the customer and customer service in the retail world and having a balanced budget.  Something sorely needed in our government.

Mentioning customer service reminds me of the RFID remarks you made.  Do you have any idea how much theft goes on in America?  The lostness of our people is so great that if theft was allowed to go unchecked in a busy setting like Walmart that it would actually drive up prices more.  To defeat competition, and believe me retail is very competitive, you have to defend yourself while maintaining the supply chain for the volume of customers that have needs.  There are still many low volume items to sell that mom and pop retail can earn a living from.  Tea & Spice Exchange is one good example.

I don't think anybody realizes this but the size and volume of Walmart is so great and its distribution system so great and vast and efficient that it is darn near close to being a national security issue.  We have 300,000,000 people in the US that need things and our vast retail system is unparalleled in human history.  But it is a human system that will be judged by God one day and trust me it does not need someone in Alabama frowning about bar code and RFID.  Do you enjoy long lines and manual data entry or do you like efficient service when you want to buy something and just go home?  Then there's Target and Best Buy and many others.  I hope you are still with me at this point because I have one more comment and then a closing from the Bible.

We live in a broken world full of broken people who have sinned and crossed the line and done some terrible things that will be judged by God one day.  For now mankind, in America, has a system of prisons to keep, punish, and restore as many criminals as possible.  Here is where you come in.  In Arizona it is possible that this detention center may be used for processing people who have illegally crossed our borders with evil intent.  We even have Islamic terrorists crossing our southern border and probably the northern one as well.  We are being invaded.  It is also possible that one prison will be emptied out so that it can be modernized and your detention center of interest may be used for that purpose too.  What have you done to minister to the lost in these prisons?  Go to http://www.eeprisonministry.org/index.html and read about what Christ has done for Pauline.  I ask that question of myself at the same time I ask you.

Lastly, I leave you with a passage of scripture about dead men's bones.  You mention Walmart being built over bones although you don't provide proof it doesn't matter.  The very desk you are sitting in could be in a building built over a grave of someone who died a very long time ago and you aren't aware of it.  Given what you have said you should worry about this.  The entire subject about Illuminati is about worry.  God has not given us a spirit of fear but of a sound mind so use your time wisely that you have left on this earth to boldly proclaim Jesus and drop this focus on Illuminati.

1 Peter 5:7-9 (King James Version)

7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

What if I was from the Ukraine and spoke only Ukrainean?  Would I have to first learn English and then be saved by the King James Version of the bible or could I learn about Christ from the Ukrainean translation?  Your beliefs border on dogma, catma, mysticism and superstition.

Have a great day of many blessings,

What Liberals Want Our Church to Look Like

Lost souls look down their noses at evangelical Christianity as an institution that needs to be changed.  Stuck in the past.  Sorely needing to be made modern.  Behind the times.  Downright hateful.  These are some of the thoughts and bold assertions made by people who look at the floor in embarrassement when we pray or when we mention the name of Jesus in respectful tone.

I put together two images that convey what my church would look like from the perspective of the ordinary signs found on campus.  It gives me the creeps personally to look what I've created but more than that is what it does to Jesus Christ.  He was executed on the cross for sins that liberals want us to acclimate down to.

What looks like a phobia to the lost souls are actually self-defense mechanisms of Christians trying to defend what is true.  Defense against everything a Christian considers sinful- disobeying the law, alternate lifestyles that assault the plan God has for our lives, defending our own faith against foreign gods.

You see progressives are really not progressive if they put forward the same old sins that are 5,000 years old as somehow advanced and normal.  The real progressive is the one who put away the sins that entagle us and take up the cross of Christ and follow his example in our symbolic death-burial-resurrection sequence.

Christ died on the cross for us all so when we step backwards into darkness we crucify the Lord all over again.  This is especially true for back-slidden Christians - Hebrews 6

If you have any questions or need specific references to bible quotations regarding any subject that irks you about Christians leave a comment.

Religions and Cultures Around the World

I had several Islamic friends in College both in Hot Springs and Fayetteville. In Hot Springs I went out with a young lady who did eventually marry one of my friends, Mahmood Soltanokatabi. They were married in the home of a professor off Greenwood St. just east of Central Ave. Mahmood and I were going to room together at UALR, share an apartment b/c UALR did not have a dormitory. My father stepped in and directed me to Fayetteville because there, in a dorm, someone else does the cooking for you and all you have to do is study and have fun, he said. So with that marriage and change of mind I left for UofA.

At U of A I immediately joined the International Students club. For some reason I have always enjoyed the company of people from other countries because they, in many cases, have simpler lives and simpler entertainment demands compared to many Americans. Its probably why I married the girl I did, part of it anyway. All of us from many parts of the world, India, Pakistan, Iran, France, Cyprus and America had fun going on picnics making samples of our native foods to share.  I could never forget the Indian Festival of Lights.  I still keep their recipes in my collection.

Arkansas is so 'no wheres-ville' man; right smack in the middle of the continent, tiny college town, tiny college by comparison so it always amazed me how in the world people from these places found us! Probably low cost of living and tuition but at the time there was a world-wide demand for engineers and physicists trained in America. Market forces. Yet also Fayetteville, at the time, was the only university that had a working nuclear breeder reactor. Many Asian and Middle-Eastern countries needed to have an understanding of nuclear reactor physics for all the typical reasons of power generation, research and bomb making. Remember we still had a very active Cold War going on with Russia. Some of the top nuclear scientists now working for the President of Iran probably got their start in Fayetteville and America and elsewhere.

Changing conversation a bit here. I was raised in the Christian Church Disciples of Christ that was on Grand and now on Central Ave./Greenwood. When I was 12 the pastor asked if anyone would like to commit their life to Christ 'this morning' and I stepped away from my family like a big boy, walked to the Pastor, and told him what I wanted to do. Starting from age 12 I was taught the love and concern of God's people and about the forgiveness of sins through Jesus as intercessor between God and myself. I wasn't the perfect child and grew up stretching the boundaries as usual but all the while I got steeped in the history of the church from Genesis to Revelation. Nothing was ever mentioned to me of any other religion until I became older and began reading about them myself. From Siddhartha in High School, to reading the stuff that I was handed in airports and beyond it never rocked my world and changed anything because I knew I was hooked with the original and the best. The reason is because Christianity is a relationship NOT a religion as so many insist.  Jesus said "True religion is this that we lay down our life for another."  He did not say "True religion is this that we fire when ready at anybody who doesn't convert because my Father is defensless against the infidel."  But no matter the religion we are all screwups.  Jehovah's Witnesses are screwups, Catholics are screwups as well as Muslims and Hindus.

Mankind is not good at any religion he tries its part of his nature. He's built to fail from hitting his thumb with a hammer and cursing God to taking a curve too fast on the snow and running into a ditch with his car to plotting to blow up buildings. We're failures! We are such failures that there was only one perfect man that ever lived and we nailed him to a cross and murdered him. But he came down off that cross and rose again at the end of the Jewish Pesach (or Passover ) to forgive us for being who we are. He was the first of the dead to rise and will one day in the fullness of time retract his outstretched arms and judge the world in which all nations will be his footrest and then the end will come.

I know one of the ways that other systems of belief have been attractive to me is in the feeling of being exotic and different from my culture. You and I are both raised up in a system of government and of living in which the dominant influence is Judeo-Christian. It'd be the same if I was a Muslim man living in Egypt. Christianity might look mighty exotic and powerful and daring to me. (it would be risky too unlike here) Along the same lines picture the stereotypical American girl converted to Hinduism. She's sitting apparently placidly and comfortably in the Lotus position with her fingers held a certain way, perfumed and in wealthy surroundings. To me the test of authenticity has always been pain, persecution, and small numbers of followers. "The road is broad that leads to destruction, narrow is The Way and few will find it." That pretty much sums up Jews and Christians: pain and punishment for what you believe. Jews are universally despised and few know why.  The question becomes do I follow what the millions believe in through the centuries or what the other billions believe in?

As I was about to say I am not ashamed to share what I believe and you shouldn't either. Nor should we be afraid. As the B'rit Hadashah or New Testament says "Don't be afraid of men who can only kill the body but fear Him who can throw both body and soul into Hell." When you hear about awful things being done by your Muslim brothers against us all and their fellow believers the best advice is from the Apostle Paul who said to Christians "Expel the immoral brother from among you." That advice was meant to be an act of restoration from a man's repeated acts apart from God's will for his life not as punisment.  He, with prayer and hope, might become contrite of heart and ask for forgiveness to rejoin the body of blievers.  So take these facts as a petition to the closest Imam and suggest that restoration to a more peaceful way of life needs to be made for a fellow believer.  The marketing department of Islam is lacking because average Americans are not energetic enough to NOT paint the entire movement the same when someone hollers "Allahu Akbar !" and shoots people.

Lamb stuffed Grape Leaves for Ramadan
The conclusion of all this is America is changing and no longer dominated by a few origins of thought.  Many people who came from other countries like my people lived as quiet productive citizens within our system.  Islam is one of two movements that strives by force to punish and change America from what she was.  Light cannot partake of darkness and darkness of light.  Ones motives have to follow the law of non-contradiction in which no two things of equal but opposite intent can both be true.  For example if I buy a t-shirt from the Hollister store in the Mall it is not equal to taking the t-shirt because I am poor, unemployed and cannot afford it.  One way is right the other wrong.  I can't care about someone else's religous celebration because I cannot identify with the religion.  It is as far away to me as Los Angeles is from New York.  But art and music and math and the sciences is something we can all appreciate together.  After all where would we be without the Arabic peoples contributions to astronomy, math and economics?  The above link if you click on the title will take you to a higher appreciation to vast differences and contributions to mankind arising from the listed beliefs.
